The capercaillie, the giant lizard of El Hierro, the Iberian lynx, the Pyrenean desman, the Basque whale, the bucardo... Following the trail of symbolic animals that are difficult (or impossible) to see, one can penetrate the idiosyncrasy of the populations that have them as a reference. This project aims at the Spanish geography to, through some animals as emblematic as they are elusive, delve into the wildest nature of the country and into the relationship that the Spanish have with it. Each animal will help to develop a theme of ecosystem importance, so that the book will grow in each chapter, with some stories feeding the following and complementing each other to form a fresco of the situation of wildlife in Spain.
