Cunningham, Michael

In London in the 1920s, Virginia Woolf began to conceive a new work, which would become the famous novel Mrs. Dalloway. In 1949, Laura Brown, a young housewife from Los Angeles, prepares a birthday cake for her husband with the help of her young son, Richie, all the while thinking about continuing to read Virginia Woolf's novel. In the 1990s, in New York, Clarissa Vaughan buys flowers for a party in honor of Richard, a former friend with AIDS who has received a major literary award.
