Lore
Bracken, Alexandra
Every seven years the agon begins. As punishment for the rebellion, nine Greek gods are forced to walk the Earth, among mortals, while being hunted by hunters, descendants of ancient lineages, eager to kill a god and seize his divine power and immortality. Long ago, Lore Perseus fled that brutal competition in the wake of the sadistic murder of his family by a rival bloodline, leaving behind the promises of the hunt for eternal glory. For years he has tried to evade any thoughts of revenge towards the man -now a god- responsible for the death of his family. However, during the last agon in New York, two participants ask him for help: Castor, his childhood friend, whom he believed dead, and Athena, one of the last original goddesses, seriously injured. The goddess offers him an alliance against her common enemy and, in addition, a way that Lore can leave the agon in the past forever. But Lore's decision to link his fate to that of Athena and rejoin the hunt will come at a deadly cost, and may not be enough to stop the emergence of a new god with the power to bring humanity to its knees.
