Los anillos de Saturno
Sebald, W. G.
The writer undertakes a journey on foot through the county of Suffolk, on the east coast of England, to fill the void that has taken hold of its interior after having completed an important work. While he contemplates solitary landscapes and small coastal towns, he comes across vestiges of a past that refers him to the whole of the world, framed in a multitude of different times, spaces and characters. Sebald masterfully blends autobiography with history and with stories, anecdotes, conjectures and memories straddling reality and fiction, in which civilization and nature are shown in their widest varieties. There are many characters that accompany Sebald on his internal and external journey, and to whom he grants the floor: Thomas Browne, Chateaubriand, Swinburne, Joseph Conrad, Borges...
