Los niños que usaban botas militares
Boboh, Jalloh
Francis and Boye were two boys barely twelve years old when the civil war began that deeply wounded Sierra Leone during the last decade of the last century and the beginning of this millennium. During those unforgettable days, Boye and Francis attended the same elementary school. They were inseparable. And very weird and naughty. They caused a lot of trouble at school and also at home. However, the boys got very good grades. They finished primary school and went on to secondary school, to the same institute. But, after a while, Francisco lost interest in studies. He now hated books and hated the school environment. Boye was the opposite. He was trying harder than ever. He dreamed of going to college. One day, Francis disappeared from the institute and from his house. Nobody heard from him again. It was rumored that the boy had gone to join the ranks of the rebels. No one could believe it, because at that time no one wanted to acknowledge the truth that children went to war. Years passed. The war continued, more brutal, more entangled and with no solutions to the conflict in sight on the horizon. The horrible reality of the country had twisted Boye's plans, as well as the lives of millions of citizens. Boye ended up enlisting in the Army, quickly rising to the rank of lieutenant and leading a formidable group of servicemen deeply committed to patriotic duty. Boye's big moment came when he and his battle-hardened men accidentally discovered a large rebel base hidden in the jungle. But the prize could not be greater. They were going to raid none other than a group of rebels led by a notorious leader whose dark legends were known to all.
