Since 19-year-old Cain completed her Blood Huntress training, her job has been to protect the people of Edinburgh from vampires and other dark creatures. Cain takes her job seriously, working meticulously and following the rules. Cain and Warden can hardly imagine that, just a few years ago, they were fighting partners and trusted each other blindly. Currently, the differences between both Hunters are as great as the pain after having hurt each other is heavy. Now, Cain and Warden are suddenly forced to work together, a fact Cain isn't too keen on at first. However, the more time she spends with the Warden, the more she comes to understand him. And as they fight together for life or death, they must decide if there is a second chance for them too.
