In 2018, from the stage at the Edinburgh International Television Festival, Michaela Coel delivered a passionate speech that orbited around the difficulty of being different, whether on the grounds of gender, race or class. Of all the people who were there and who returned home that day shocked by what they had just heard, it was Michaela herself who resonated with her own ideas the most. She now starts from them to develop a personal vision of the world that she shares here, filled with personal anecdotes and beautiful allegories. Marginados picks up her way from her childhood in a public housing estate in one of London's richest and most aggressive neighborhoods to her discovery of theater and a passion for storytelling that has led her to the elite of the audiovisual industry.
