Christie, Agatha

During a train ride, Luke Fitzwilliam sits next to the elderly Miss Pinkerton, who explains that a series of seemingly perfect murders are taking place in the town of Wychwood, and confides her suspicions that the next victim will be Dr. Humbelby. Fitzwilliam doesn't take the elderly woman's fears into consideration until, the next day, he reads in the newspaper that Dr. Humbelby has disappeared and Miss Pinkerton has been hit by a car near a police station. Mere coincidence? To find out, Mr. Fitzwilliam decides to move to the enigmatic town to, once there, discover that not only it is full of secrets, but that hidden amongst all of them, waiting for the ideal moment to act again, is the murderer. One of the readers' favorite novels of the great lady of mystery.
