Paris, 1944. A young Jewish girl's future is snatched away in a second. As she is pushed onto a train bound for Auschwitz, in an act of desperation she entrusts her most prized possession to a complete stranger. All she has left now is hope. California, 1953. Jean-Luc believes that he has put his past behind him. The scar on his face is a small price to pay for surviving the horror of the Nazi occupation of France. He now has a new life in the United States, a family. He never expected that the past would one day knock on his door.
