Inspector Irene Castro and Subinspector Vicent Calabuig are to investigate four disappearances, which could be followed by murders. Among others, there is the councilor of Cullera, Àngel Peris, involved in an urban plot. Castro's suspicions point to Sergei Saujman, El Gat, a well-known leader of the Russian mafia, also linked to real estate developer Francesc Mencheta, a member of the Nou Benimaclet fault. While trying to tie heads, the inspector feels the suspicious pressure of Judge Antonio Muriel, who gives them until the day after St. Joseph to close the case. Will they get it before the last doll turns to ashes?
