Mujeres y delincuencia

Bartolomé Gutiérrez, Raquel

Delinquency is a human phenomenon present in any society that establishes norms and typifies their rupture as crimes. Therefore, women and men commit crimes. There is no doubt about it. However, criminology has made the study of delinquency committed by women such a specialized subject that it has remained on the margins of the discipline. This means that the great theories and the best-established knowledge in criminology are related to crime committed by men, although they are transferred to society as general. With this manual, we try to break with the traditional view of women who offend as something anecdotal or irrelevant to criminology and place them at the center of the analysis and some of the current debates on how to explain, predict, prevent and treat the behavior criminal. We hope to help students, professionals and researchers ask themselves more often, what about women?
