Necesito saber hoy de tu vida
Duque, Sabrina
This book presents nine portraits of characters that the author calls "mavericks". Characters who, for one reason or another, disagree with reality, all of them linked to Portugal and Brazil. A Portuguese neurosurgeon from the last century (António Egas Moniz) appears who invented the lobotomy; a couple of soccer players (Eusébio -the Black Panther- and Cristiano Ronaldo) who move between idolatry and the terror of failure; a singer (Roberto Carlos) who has a very special relationship with emotions and tears; a sound engineer (Vasco Pimentel) obsessed with noise, who inspired Wim Wenders, the protagonist of Lisbon Story; a cartoon director (Celia Catunda) who believes that children should not be treated as if they were stupid; a Brazilian millionaire (Eike Batista) who fell out of favor and ended up in prison; the Lisbon waiters, who always seem angry, are not willing to allow you to leave food on your plate and insist on suggesting what you should not order that day; and, finally, Fernando Pessoa, the poet who struggled with multiple identities.
