Odiseicas

las mujeres en la Odisea

Estrada Cerquera, Carmen

Most of the adaptations and recreations of the Odyssey have focused on the hero, on the journey of Ulysses. This has affected the image we have of female characters, who have reached the 21st century as stereotypes of the popular imagination that have nothing to do with women endowed with a very defined personality. Odysseus offers an exciting approach to these female characters who, with their behavior and qualities, challenged the role expected of them in a misogynistic and patriarchal society.
