Parte de una historia

Aldecoa, Ignacio

Ignacio Aldecoa used to say that he would like to be remembered as a storyteller. The approach of this one is simple: to a fishing village of an island lost in the Atlantic, some American tourists arrive from a shipwrecked yacht that will alter, for a short time but dramatically, the daily life of the islanders. The narrator, a nameless writer from an unknown city, who does not reveal why he is there or how long he is going to stay, records in his notes the daily routine of the austere fishermen without taking much part in it. Until a tragedy puts an end to the debauchery of the tourists.
