1947. Miquel Mascarell, the last policeman of the republican Barcelona, is released after being pardoned from the death penalty and having spent a few years imprisoned in the Valle de los Caídos. When he returns home he finds an almost unknown city, where he has nothing left and no one left. His police instinct is put into action when he receives a mysterious envelope with a photograph, money and an address. Over the course of a week, he will discover the new paths that the dictatorship is paving in Barcelona and in Spain: the looting and the great wealth it provides to the victors, hunger and misery still burying the vanquished.
