The teenager lowers his eyes and when he raises them again he thinks that he is the one who has already walked enough. "My grandmother is shopping," he replies, "if she wants she can wait for her." While the stranger sits down, the boy goes back to the dining room, and again takes the portrait of that young man who was killed in the war and who didn't have time to act as his grandfather.
