Sin figuración, poca diversión
y otras certezas
Tusquets, Òscar
This book offers a delightful tour of many art-related topics: landscapes, architectural buildings, sculptures, paintings, photographs, and designs. And although these pages are not intended to prove anything, they do question recalcitrant commonplaces about the endless debate between (the misnamed) abstraction and figuration. All the works that are discussed here, without complexes or restraints, are much-loved works, and all of them are figurative or useful objects (or both at the same time), because, as Oscar Tusquets points out: "In art there is no figuratively I cannot find, no matter how hard I try, love, sex, sin, divinity, friendship, the passage of time, death, humor, fleeting memories... in short, everything that passionate and helps me to continue living". Insisting (not repeating) on ??the aesthetic ideas that the author has always defended in his books, this work is combined with the images and comments included in the attractive Art with Oscar series that the photographer Eva Blanch shares on Instagram.
