Summertime blues
Prado, Diego
The life of old Nick Prom, a failing musician, was forever changed one fateful night in April 1960 when Eddie Cochran, one of the most talented American rock'n'roll idols, was killed in a car accident aboard a taxi. His guitar was found in the trunk of the vehicle, a splendid and unique Gretsch. Johnny Tyler, a rebellious and misfit boy, decides to steal the precious instrument to impress the girl of his dreams, and with that goal he will devise an absurd and crazy plan. Obsessed with recovering the Gretsch from his ill-fated friend, in turn Prom will undertake a search where fiction and reality are confused through a series of characters fatally united by that guitar that will mark the future of their lives. Story of an impossible love but eternalized in time, Summertime blues is also a hymn to friendship and the survival of ideals, but above all a bitter metaphor about the end of youth, the renunciation of dreams and the disenchantment of all a generation.
