Tinta, sangre, hermana, escriba

For generations, the Kalotay family has protected a collection of ancient and precious books. Books that allow a person to walk through walls, or manipulate elements; and stepsisters Joanna and Esther have been raised to revere and protect those magical books. But all magic has a price, and for years the sisters have been separated. Esther has fled to a remote base in the Antarctic region to escape the fate that killed her mother, and Joanna has isolated herself in the family home in Vermont, where she dedicates her life to studying those precious volumes. But when the sisters' father suddenly dies while he is reading a book totally unknown to Joanna, they must reunite to preserve the family legacy. In the process, they will discover a world of magic much larger and more dangerous than they had ever imagined, and all the secrets their parents had kept from them: secrets that span centuries, continents, and even other libraries.
