Education is in a serious crisis. Students often don't want to learn, and teachers don't want to teach either. As never before in the history of this country, educators must confront the prejudices that teaching practices have created in our society, as well as invent new ways of knowing and other strategies for sharing knowledge. If progressive critical thinkers and those who act in social criticism do not consider teaching as a key issue, we will hardly reach this crisis.
