Tutankhamón

Tutankhamón

una vida, un reinado, una tumba

Alegre García, Susana

Tutankhamun is an enigmatic pharaoh, about whom few details are known and who continues to be a great unknown. Despite the fact that, in 1922, Howard Carter, with the patronage of Lord Carnarvon, located his tomb in the Valley of the Kings and brought to light truly magnificent grave goods, these objects hardly tell us about who the thousand-year-old king was, or about his government or his possible feats. Tutankhamun is, in many ways, a question mark and, furthermore, a constant source of controversy among Egyptologists. In this publication we delve into the figure of this king of ancient Egypt, approaching the documents that have been preserved about his reign, his history, his works... We are also going to see the unparalleled treasure found in his tomb and we will know the formidable adventure behind the most spectacular discovery in the history of archaeology, making the most fanciful dream of any archaeologist come true. And yet, regarding Tutankhamun, as Howard Carter wrote: "The mystery of his life keeps slipping away; the shadows move, but the darkness never dissipates".
