Una sabiduría salvaje
Nietzsche y la religión de la abundancia
Premio Manuel Alvar de Estudios Humanísticos 2023
Martín Navarro, Alejandro
The present study has its origins in a question: What does it consist in to be religious? And the attempt to answer this question leads the author to delve into a paradoxical work, as it is the creation of an atheist philosopher and, at the same time, a text that Nietzsche himself considered sacred and a fifth Gospel: Thus Spake Zarathustra. The interpretation of this work sheds light on fundamental aspects of the religious phenomenon, which is analysed from the fields of philosophy, anthropology and the science of religions. The first chapters of the book deal with the religious phenomenon as such. They show that religion can be interpreted as an "architecture of value", i.e. as a technique for constructing values, and at the same time as a "technology of salvation", as a mechanism for individual and group fulfilment. This first part highlights the "vitalist" aspects of religious praxis and draws the relationship between the concepts of wisdom (as opposed to theoretical knowledge), wildness (as a Dionysian return).
