Luísa Cymbron (n. 1963),<br>PhD in Musicology from Universidade Nova de Lisboa(1999), were she also teaches. Her main areas of research are 19th century Portuguese music, Portuguese reception of Italian and French opera and musical relations between Portugal and Brazil, during the same period. She is a member of CESEM (Centro de Estudos de Sociologia e Estética Musical - FCSH, UNL), and review editor of Revista Portuguesa de Musicologia. She is now working on a book on Francisco de Sá Noronha (a never ending story...) and a collective book on the history of the old Teatro de S. João in Oporto (1798-1908).
