Dominic Machado holds a PhD in Ancient History from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island and currently serves as Assistant Professor of Classics at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts. His research focuses on the history of the Roman Republic, with a particular interest in the perceptions and realities of non-elite group behavior during this crucial period of Roman history. He is also interested in the role that Classics played and continues to play in structuring the modern world and has published papers on matters related to diversity and inclusion in the field of Classics, the reception of ancient history in various modern media, and Latin pedagogy.
