Ina Rösing was born 1942 in Breslau (today Wroclaw/Poland) as daughter of physical anthropologist Ilse Schwidetzky.Rösing herself is a cultural anthropologist, ethnologist, psychologist and sociologist. She held a professorship and was director of the Institute for Cultural Anthropology at the University Clinics in Ulm. She is also director of the Institute for Transcultural Research.
