This book takes up the stimuli of new international historiography, albeit focusing mainly on the two regimes that undoubtedly provided the model for Fascist movements in Europe, namely the Italian and the German. Starting with a historiographical assessment of the international situation, vis-à-vis studies on Fascism and National Socialism, and then concentrate on certain aspects that are essential to any study of the two dictatorships, namely the complex relationships with their respective societies, the figures of the two dictators and the role of violence.

Este libro recoge los estímulos de la nueva historiografía internacional, aunque centrándose principalmente en los dos regímenes que, sin duda, sirvieron de modelo a los movimientos fascistas en Europa, a saber, el italiano y el alemán. Comienza con una valoración historiográfica de la situación internacional, frente a los estudios sobre el fascismo y el nacionalsocialismo, para centrarse después en ciertos aspectos esenciales para cualquier estudio de las dos dictaduras, a saber, las complejas relaciones con sus respectivas sociedades, las figuras de los dos dictadores y el papel de la violencia.
