El manual, que abarca una amplia selección de contextos multimodales basados en los fundamentos de la traducción, la interpretación y sus formas híbridas intermedias de mediación, se divide en cuatro partes. La parte inicial abarca perspectivas sobre políticas y prácticas, ya sean contemporáneas o históricas, y casos que realmente abarcan todo el planeta, desde Perú y Brasil, pasando por Bélgica y Sierra Leona, hasta Australia, Japón y Hong Kong.
