Elegías de Duino

In 1923 the Duino Elegies, one of the most influential poetic cycles of the 20th century, saw the light. Rainer Maria Rilke had started writing it ten years earlier, a decade in which the world changed dramatically. The elegies turn to everything that was disappearing in an increasingly technical environment: the sense of transcendence, the deepest and most radical love, the ephemeral condition of the human being. This volume includes, in addition to a new translation by Adan Kovacsics and Andreu Jaume, the poems that Rilke wrote at that time on the same theme and a selection of letters about the gestation of the work. All this makes it the most complete, ambitious and rigorous edition that has been made in Spanish of this classic of European letters.
