La malaltia del cor

La malaltia del cor

Pons, Joan (1960- )

Ivan, a young redhead, a British subject from the island of Mahon, arrives in Barcelona as a stowaway on a ship, in a last-ditch attempt to escape misery and a fight in which he killed a man. When he arrives at the port, he is taken by a vampire and taken prisoner, sentenced to death in a pyre in front of the public, but the captain of the garrison saves him and takes him under his protection. From that day on, Ivan will live in the castle of the city, where he will find the portrait of a child who looks disturbingly like him. One day Ivan discovers that this is the dead child of the captain, and that the captain only wants him to sacrifice him in a ritual of the Red Donkey Brotherhood in order to recover his son.
